Is this forum toast?
« on: November 28, 2018, 02:12:01 PM »

A month and a half since anyone's posted. I enjoyed the place while it lasted, but now it makes FFF look busy.

Prove me wrong that there's still life here!

Yep. A week went by without reply to this, or any other posts being made. The board is toast.

Five weeks since my post above, which until now was the most recent.   :(

And your point is? The site is monitored just isn't much member activity, if you want to help then point some good firearms enthusiasts this way and lets get this place rolling again.

When I look at who is "on-line", I see myself and Google. Who is Google?

Google search engine bots they are on pretty much all websites. As for activity I check the site daily if people stop by once every six months and never post then there isn't much activity.

I've tried that, mostly to no avail. It's really hard to get firearms enthusiasts under a certain age to join any kind of forum, in my experience. And, do we really want more old coots like us? ;)

Thats the main reason why it is so difficult getting this site moving again. Fifteen or twenty years ago it was permissable to post links around the net including various forums to attract members to your site. These days most forums will ban you on the spot for doing that or at the very least delete links from your post or signature line. More old coots would be welcome. Over the last few years I've noticed an overall decline of activity on many gun forums.

I still read a bit.  I need to post more.  Now that my access to NGF is limited to my phone (and I hate typing on my phone) I need to branch out a bit.

Good to see you Alan!
NGF seems to be having a lot of software issues since the new owners took over the place a couple years ago.

Yes they do, and they don't seem to be inclined to fix them.  I'm not sure what the problem is with my account there, but, ..... It's not going to accomplish anything to go into it here.

I enjoy talking with the guys there and I've been a member for 10 years. But, they are all members here as well.  Maybe we can get some activity going.
